If you walk into the WestPoint Financial Group office in the month of November, you will see many different varieties of facial hair. WestPoint decided to get involved in Movember. Movember was created in order to raise awareness of men’s health issues by growing moustaches to raise funds for prostate and testicular cancer research.
WestPoint decided to get involved in this worthy charity and create its own moustache-growing fundraiser. Greg McRoberts, WestPoint’s Managing Partner will match donations up to $5000. The money raised will be donated to Movember and the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
WestPoint is calling their fundraiser, “Staches for Steve.” The title is in honor of one of WestPoint’s employee’s father who was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in July 2010. Steve began chemotherapy Tuesday, November 1, 2011.
“It has always been part of our mission as an organization to support local charities. This also hits close to home as well, since one of our employees who has been with WestPoint for many years is dealing with this particular cancer in her own family. We hope to show our support not only to Steve, but to the many other men who are battling this disease,” stated Greg McRoberts, Managing Partner of WestPoint Financial Group.
All WestPoint locations have been encouraged to participate. You will find moustaches of all shapes and sizes in the Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and Peoria, IL offices.
